Easter Crafting...

Yes, I'm still knitting..... LOL!!! One day I'll venture back to the sewing machine, I hope, but while the knitting urge is still here I thought I might as well do some Easter crafting....

A bunny hat for little Millie.....
With one for Miss Connie on the way in chocolate brown...And a few of these super cute bunny washcloths for my girls....I'm also planning on making a heap of these for the rest of the extended family to team up with their home baked Easter treats this year.... They were so quick and easy to knit, perfect for the beginner...
What Easter traditions do you have???? Have you started your Easter crafting yet???

Also, over the weekend I had the courage (with some help from my Mum) to draft up a clothes pattern to knit.... I can't believe it actually worked out..... LOL!!! Here it is, a 'Jelly Top'....

There's a few things that need 'tweaking' so to speak and then the pattern will be all done, available as a dress or a top, too cute... ^_^

Trips to Town...

Living on a farm in the middle of nowhere really makes those trips to town once every 10 or so days extra special.... So for our last 'special trip' I made Miss Connie some pretty crochet clips to wear in her hair...
And while I was at it I up-sized the flower and made myself a brooch....
(The flower above is a pattern I wrote myself and is available for purchase. Email me and I'll forward the particulars if you're interested... $1 for the pattern, $3 for a made pair of hair clips or brooch .)
I've also managed to knit this little Debbie Bliss shrug for Connie over the past week...
I made one for Millie a few weeks back so now I'll have matchy matching girls come Winter... ^_^... Don't you just love that???

Take Care..... :)

Fairy Cookies

After finishing this little project this morning.....(a knitted neck warmer/cowl for my sisters b'day at the end of the month), Miss Connie and I made a big batch of fairy cookies.....
And they're already half gone.....
Here's the recipe.....

3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup white sugar, teaspoon vanilla.
cream ingredients.
stir in 2 cups of plain flour and 1/2 cups of 100's and 1000's.
shape into a big sausage.
wrap in cling film and pop in the fridge for 2 hours.
slice dough into 1 cm thick discs.
bake at 180C for 10-15 mins.
should make about 60 biscuits....

Take Care
and ENJOY!!!

Knitting Frenzy....

I've found the projects flying off the needles this past week....

First there was this gorgeous 'noble cowl' (a free Ravelry download) for a girlfriends b'day at the end of the month...

Then there was this little eyelet cardie for My Millie....

I made the 6 month size and it fits my precious little 2 month old just perfect.....

And next there was a cute little pebble vest.... (made using 4mm needles and 12ply yarn and making up to fit a 3-6 month old baby)

The simplicity of this vest is just awesome!!!! The perfect project for the beginner knitter not even taking a day to complete.... :)

Such Devastation.....

I sure was shocked when we drove through some of the fire affected areas of VIC on the weekend....
Never in a million years had I imagined it would be this bad.....
It really does make you cherish what you have and feel for those who have lost so much....
So give the loved ones around you an extra big squeeze for me today and Take Care..... :)

Long Car Trip....

After a few repairs here.....

and some more under there....

We were ready for a long car trip which involved lots of this....So we could pick up this....My new baby.... LOL!!!
The beauty of long car trips is that you get heaps of knitting done.
I got this little cardie (pattern free from Ravelry) finished for Miss Connie early on in the trip and then she wore it the rest of the way... (she has it on in the pic above, too cute)And these seat belt covers I whipped up for Little Millie's car seat straps... They were super easy and if you'd like the pattern just leave me a comment and I'll email it to you...
In about an hour I'll be hitting the road again. We're heading down to Melbourne for a wedding this weekend and can't wait to see the gorgeous bride and groom walk down the isle... I'm really not looking forward to seeing all of the bush fire devastation though. I think it may be a big eye opener for my little family as we drive through affected areas...
Have a great weekend...

Spring Seed Swap?
